The Couples Therapy Peer Consultation Group: Supporting Couples During the First Year of Postpartum is a biweekly, 12 CE event that will meet in 8 90-minute segments.

This group will serve as an opportunity for case consultations to learn effective tools for supporting postpartum couples. You will learn narrative therapy interventions and assessment questions that can be used to gain a better understanding of the experience of the couple. Enhance the way you provide therapeutic support to postpartum couples. By learning the tools and incorporating them into your practice, you will help to address the impact of untreated perinatal mood and anxiety disorders that new parents face.

Dates

  • Thursday 2/8: Understanding the postpartum period
  • Thursday 2/22: Assessment and screening during postpartum
  • Thursday 3/7: Addressing challenges couples face during this time
  • Thursday 3/21: Overview of narrative therapy for postpartum couples
  • Thursday 4/4: Tools for assessing and enhancing relationship dynamics
  • Thursday 4/18: Cultural competence in postpartum support
  • Thursday 5/2: Ways to promote interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Thursday 5/16: Practical application with postpartum couples

Continuing education units will be distributed to all who attend all 8 sessions. If folks need to miss one session, they will be asked to write a 2-3 page summary.
